Bellevue Bone & Joint Physicians is pleased to welcome Eric T. Hansen, MD to the practice. Dr. Hansen is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has been in practice for more than 26 years.

Dr. Hansen is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and specializes in general orthopedic fracture, sports injuries,foot & ankle surgery and general orthopaedics.  He has had subspecialty fellowship training in foot and ankle reconstruction.

Dr. Hansen is a native of Washington State.  After high school in Seattle he attended Whitman College in Walla Walla WA obtaining a BA in Biology.  He then attended the University of Washington, School of Medicine on an Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship. He completed a general Surgery Internship at Naval Hospital Oakland Then spent 3 years in the fleet as a general medical officer and flight surgeon this included over a year of service onboard ships ranging from destroyers to nuclear aircraft carriers.  Dr. Hansen returned to Naval Hospital Oakland to start his residency in orthopedic surgery, but when this program was closed by the base realignment commission he completed the bulk of his orthopedic training and the University of California, Davis. The next two years were spent taking care of the Marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen stationed in Okinawa Japan, treating mostly sports injuries and fractures.  Dr. Hansen returned to Washington for his final tour of duty at the Naval Hospital Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island. After leaving active duty Dr. Hansen did a fellowship in Foot and Ankle reconstruction through the University of Washington in Seattle.  He worked In Longview WA for 10 years before Joining Bellevue Bone and Joint Physicians in 2016.

Dr Hansen continues to treat a wide variety of fractures and sports injuries as well as arthritis and deformities of the foot and ankle. There is usually more than one effective way to treat a given condition.  Dr Hansen believes in discussing the surgical and nonsurgical options and what fits best for a patient’s medical and personal circumstances.

Dr. Hansen has extensive experience in the treatment of foot and ankle arthritis including Total ankle replacements.  He performs repairs of bunions, hammertoes and flatfoot deformities, acute and chronic sprains and tendon ruptures.
