I Was Injured on The Job. Now What?

Bellevue orthopedics insurance claims

In a recent year, more than 2.9 million occupation injuries/illnesses were reported in the United States. If you have been injured on the job, then your medical expenses for care may qualify to be paid for through your L&I insurance coverage.

What is L&I?

It’s workers’ compensation that provides no-fault industrial insurance coverage for most employees and workers in Washington State.

Benefits include medical treatment for workers who are injured in the course of their employment or develop an occupational disease as a result of their work activities.

What Will Workers’ Compensation Pay For?

  • Approved medical, hospital and related services due to workplace injuries.
  • Compensation for those who are temporarily unable to work full-time.

All Washington State employers must provide coverage for their employees and premiums are paid by employers and employees.

If you are injured during the course of your employment, it is your choice whether or not to file a workers’ compensation claim. If you have made a claim, please see your Human Resources (HR) department for further instructions on how to proceed.
