Greg Engel, MD

Dr. Greg Engel is a Seattle native. After completing his undergraduate degree in oceanography/zoology at the University of Washington, he went onto medical school there, as well. He graduated with honors in the top ten of his class at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Greg Engel completed his orthopedic residency at the UW affiliated hospitals which included Harborview Trauma Center, Children’s Orthopedic, Swedish Hospital, and the VA. He also received special training in sports medicine through the University of Washington’s sports medicine department.

In 1979, Dr. Greg Engel started Bellevue Bone and Joint Physicians. He currently has a general Orthopedic practice, but also specializes in hip, knee, and shoulder arthroscopy, reconstruction, and total joint replacement. He just finished his two year term as chief of staff at Overlake Hospital Medical Center at the end of 2010. He has two children, Max and Madeline, and pursues many interests which include skiing and tennis.

Dr. Greg Engel is proud to have been voted one of Seattle Magazines "Top Doctors" a total of six times, including 2009.
