Bellevue Orthopedic physician Dr. Alan Brown received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and then completed medical school in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. Dr. Alan Brown was also an orthopedic resident at the University of Michigan Hospitals and after two years in private practice in Washington he returned to the University of Michigan's law school, graduating in 1995.
In 1994, he served as a Congressional Fellow in Washington, D.C. under Congressman Sander Levin. He was the team physician for the University of Michigan Men’s Gymnastics Team and went on to serve as one of the two event physicians for gymnastics during the Atlanta Olympic Games. Dr. Alan Brown completed a spine surgery fellowship in 1999 at the San Francisco Spine Institute. He has a special interest in the comprehensive treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He has training in minimally-invasive techniques and disc replacement surgery.
In addition to practicing orthopedic spine surgery, Dr. Alan Brown is an active member of the Utah Bar Association specializing in health law and focusing his legal practice on hospital and health insurance fairness. He is a licensed floatplane pilot, certified ski instructor and has many other personal interests.
